Berbere Sloppy Joes
Instructions
In a large skillet over med-high heat, brown then remove and drain
- 1 lb lean ground beef
In the same skillet, add
- 1 Tbls Fresh Harvest Garlic olive oil
- 1 cup diced onions
- 1 tsp minced Garlic or 1-2 cloves fresh garlic, finely minced
Saute until the onions are translucent, then add
- 1 tsp Berbere (Ethiopian spice blend)
- 1 – 15oz can tomato sauce or 1 6oz can of tomato paste and 1 c water
- 1 Tbls brown sugar (optional)
- 1/2 tsp Worcestershire powder
Stir to combine. Return the beef to the skillet and continue to combine. Simmer for 10 min. Season to taste with
- salt and pepper OR
- Tuscany Seasoning OR
- Jalapeno Seasoning Salt to add a little heat
Serve with brioche buns. Makes 6-8 sandwiches.
